What - Volunteers’ Meet
When – 21Sep14
Where – Public Gardens, Hyderabad
All Change Makers at one place with full commitment for the betterment of orphan kids.
The day started with a cloudy but sporadic sun shine, perfect for such an outdoor event to get together and know each other. Everyone was different yet with a commonality “The feeling of service to the unprivileged kids”.
The spectrum of our volunteers who attended the meet ranged from young students to middle aged corporate executives. Energy and passion was seen all around, with about 60 volunteers, most of them dressed in JOSH whites.
Pavan started off the day with a welcome note followed by taking through the history of formation of this young NPO, JOSH. Ram explained the events conducted in the past followed by Roy sprinting with a small talk on communication strategy of the org. Hariom described the philosophy of JOSH and made people aware of the operations.
Recognizing the selfless efforts of our existing volunteers, certificates were distributed as a symbol of appreciation to them. These people have been the real soul of this org and moreover the strength behind the philosophy of service.
Time flew fast and everyone was made involved in a small but fun game of remembering names of people to their immediate sides while standing in a circle.
Jumping and shouting made all a little hungry which was well complimented by small packs of snack.
By this time a group of people (some first timers, some already volunteering, some sporadically joining) churned into a closed family, the JOSH family.
Strategies were built and discussed the prep work for upcoming events.
Then a thanks note to bring the event to closure, but with a start of new energy and commitment towards service to the needy and unprivileged kids.
